Body of missing Lincoln County man found

The body of a man missing since October was found Saturday near his town of Rock Falls home. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of cadaver dogs from the K-9 Emergency Response Teams, Inc., discovered the remains of Jeffrey S. Maruska Saturday afternoon in a wooded area east of his residence.
Maruska, 51, was reported missing on Nov. 3, when a family member called the sheriff’s office saying they had not seen or heard from him since Oct. 27. Jeffrey worked at Badger Evergreen and had not showed up to work since Oct. 27.
In checking Jeffrey’s residence, all of his personal property to include his car along with keys, his wallet, bank card, and other personal items were found at his home.
On Nov. 7, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of an aircraft from the Wisconsin State Patrol and members of the K-9 Emergency Response Teams, Inc. conducted an extensive air and ground search for Maruska. However, he was not located at that time.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the case.
