Ida Sessions

Ida Amanda Lulu (Olson) Sessions, 87, of Athens, WI passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born January 22, 1927 in Fairchild, WI, the daughter of the late Andrew and Amanda (Kottke) Olson.  On January 5, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert Sessions in Fairchild. Robert and Ida made their home in Marathon County in the communities of Marathon City, and the Town of Hamburg.
In her earlier years she babysat for area families. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church Town of Maine.
In free time Ida enjoyed entertaining her family, baking, making her famous potato salad for family and friends, camping, and fishing with Robert  at Mead Lake.  She also enjoyed bird watching and could identify the bird by the song it was singing.
Ida was preceded in death by one son Robert Jr on February 22, 2003, a son-in-law Michael Mathwich on August 16, 2005, and twelve brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert Sr. of Athens, a daughter ArDonna (Jeff Toldness) Mathwich of Marathon, WI, three sons, Andrew (Donna) Sessions of Sheboygan, WI, Michael (Brenda) Sessions of Athens, WI, Corey (Christina) Sessions of Wausau, WI, a daughter-in-law Rosemarie (David) Tiedemann of Weston, WI, sixteen grandchildren, Amanda, David, Shaun, Chad, Brad, Dane, Tanya, Tami, April, Andrew, Jimmie, Trevor, Dameyn, Michael, Ashley and Crystal as well as 21 great grandchildren, one brother David (Carolyn) of Fairchild, WI and one sister Patricia Sessions of Marathon, WI.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, December 5, 2014  at Grace Lutheran Church, Town of Maine with Rev. Nathaniel Biebert officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St Wausau and after 10:00 am Friday at the church. Interment will be in Town of Berlin Cemetery.
