Miriam Ellerman

Miriam Ellerman, age 84, of Merrill, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at Woodland Court.
Miriam was born Sept. 14, 1930 in Merrill to the late Emil and Mabel (Bull) Barrone. She and Vernon Ellerman were united in marriage in June of 1950 in Illinois. He preceded her in death in January of 1951.
Miriam was a 1949 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. She received her nursing degree in 1955. Miriam proudly served her country in the United States Army from 1960 until her retirement in 1981 as a Lieutenant Colonel. She was a talented artist and won 3rd place with one of her paintings while she was in the Army. Miriam was also a sculptor. She loved remodeling and even took her talents to remodeling homes, her son’s included. Miriam enjoyed gardening and had a real green thumb. She loved spending time with her dogs.
Survivors include her son: Mike (Sue) Ellerman, Merrill; three grandchildren: Aaron (Lori) Ellerman, Douglas (Jackie) Ellerman and Jennifer (Chris) Wiederhoeft; eight great grandchildren: Rachel, Logan, Brandon, Tristin and Samuel Ellerman, Austin, Darrin and Matthew Wiederhoeft; one sister: Nancy Hepp, Virginia; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; her brother, Jim Barrone, and her good friend Kay Lloyd.
Memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Waid Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services also at the funeral home. Post #1638 will be providing full military honors.
