Carol A. Seehafer

Carol A. Seehafer, age 75, of Merrill, passed away November 3, 2014 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
Carol was born October 6, 1939, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Paul and Elsie (Leverenz) Lask.  She was the youngest of seven children.  After the deaths of her parents, at age 5, Carol lived with her brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Mariella Lask, and was raised with their three daughters who she regarded as sisters.
Carol married Dennis E. Seehafer October 31, 1964, in Merrill.  Their fiftieth wedding anniversary was celebrated this past weekend.
Carol graduated from Merrill Senior High School in 1957.  In her younger years, Carol was a nursing assistant at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill and then became a full-time mom and homemaker.  
Carol has many interests, she liked to read, crochet, have flowers, collect dolls, bird watching, playing cards with family, spending time at their camper north of Tomahawk, and especially fishing.  She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.  Most of all she loved her family.
Carol is survived by her husband, Dennis Seehafer of Merrill; sons, Craig Seehafer of Eau Claire, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Seehafer of Bettendorf, Iowa; granddaughter, Ashley Konopacki of Stevens Point; sister, Gladys Mays of Rockford, Illinois; sisters/nieces, Sally (Stanley) Weber of Wausau, Beverly (Gregg) Rice of Kronenwetter, and Linda (Robert) Karau of Apple Valley, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Alice Lask of Rockford, Illinois; and nieces and nephews.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Elsie Lask; daughter, Sheila Marie Seehafer; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Mariella Lask; brothers, Paul Lask and Emmett Lask; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine (Burt) Nygren; and sister, Shirley Adams.
A private funeral service will be held with Pastor Angie Steinhauer officiating.  The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.  
The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Hospice House for the wonderful care given to Carol the past six weeks.
