THS on a roll

The THS swimmers improved to a stellar 19-3 overall on the season with a 114-55 victory over Antigo on Thursday.
“The team was missing a number of swimmers due to family commitments, but we still managed to overcome the Red Robins,” THS coach Theresa L’Esperance said. “We also had to overcome the mental factor of swimming in a meter pool. The girls are physically aware of how many strokes it takes to complete a lap, and then when you are swimming in a meter pool, it takes a couple of more strokes to finish.
“We are also nursing along some repetitive use soreness on a few girls. We need to get that taken care of before our final push for the year.”
Tomahawk placed 1-2 in the 100 fly (Karli Cecil/Morgan Weber); 100 brea (Kristin Marcks/Michaela Galganski) and the 200 free relay (Lauren Hilt, Galganski, Katherine Russell, Weber/Marcks, Dakota Cole, Emily Zurfluh, Taylor Hansen).
Other wins came from: Hilt (200 free, 100 back); Mikhayla Kleich (50 free/100 free); the 200 medley team (Weber, GAlganski, Cecil, Kleich); and the 400 free group (Kleich, Cecil, Russell, Hilt).
“Kirstin Marcks and Lauren Hilt had some nice times and hopefully the senior captains completed their last distance event of their careers by swimming together in the 400,” L’Esperance said.
