Hatchet spikers work another GNC sweep

The Hatchet volleyball team improved to 15-2 on the season and 2-0 in the GNC with its second consecutive sweep when it handled Medford last Tuesday.
“We passed very well all night but offensively, we didn’t make the smartest plays and they were digging up our hits,” Kriese said. “Sometimes we have to remember to be patient and not get frustrated when we don’t get a kill right away. Our defense was so-so as they would send the ball over the net any way they could, and we weren’t always ready for it to come back. We have lots we want to accomplish and work on before our conference tournament next weekend.”
Powering the Hatchet run were: Anna Nyberg (12 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks, 7 digs); Becca Doughty (2 k, 33 assists, 6 d); Hanna Meyer (14 k, 6 ac, 4 bl, 11 digs); Hannah Feest (9 d); Lexi Graeber (2 ac, 5 d); Colynn Behling (3 k, 3 bl); Emily Schneider (3 k, 2 bl).
Leading the way were: Nyberg (30 k, 5 ac, 2 bl, 19 digs); Doughty (3 k, 3 ac, 77 as, 2 bl, 15 d); Meyer (28 k, 3 ac, 6 d); Schneider (10 k, 6 ac, 2 bl, 6 d); Feest (19 d); Behling (4 k, 2 bl, 2 d); Graeber (4 d); Lee (3 d).
