Carol W. Munro, age 67, of Merrill, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at Colonial Manor Rehabilitation Center.
Carol was born March 6, 1947 in Merrill to the late Leslie W. and Dorothy A. (Reckley) Yanda. She and Arliss Munro were united in marriage In Gleason in 1966.
Carol was a 1965 graduate of Merrill Senior High School where she was very involved with 4-H and the National Honor Society. She worked at Semco as a clamp operator. Carol loved her family, friends and beloved kitty. Carol enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and taking trips to the casino. She liked deer hunting and taking fishing trips up north during the summer. Carol was an avid reader and also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her son, James (Sara) Munro, of Merrill; granddaughter, Brianne Beltz; brother, Leslie “Chuck” (Marjorie) Yanda; niece and nephew, Scott Yanda and Kristen Yanda; ex-husband and good friend, Arliss Munro; good friend and caretaker, Edna Duginski; and her beloved kitty, “Kiki.” She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Julie Munro; and sister, Shirley Loing, Milwaukee.
Visitation for Carol was held Friday, Aug. 29, at Waid Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Carol’s name to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
