Kathleen M. Hoffman

Kathleen M. Hoffman, age 73, peacefully entered heaven while surrounded by her family after a brave battle with cancer. The youngest of four children, she was born on November 25, 1940, to Merrill and Luella Murphy in Antigo, WI. She graduated from Antigo High School. Kathy met Charles Hoffman on a blind date and the two of them were married on August 17, 1973. The two have resided in Merrill ever since.
She worked at Eastview Medical and Rehab Center (formerly Superior Nursing Home) in Antigo, Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, and retired from Semco in Merrill after more than 25 years of employment. During her retirement, she happily spent a lot of quality time with her grandchildren.
Kathy enjoyed spending time up north in the summer and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. In her free time, Kathy enjoyed doing word finds, keeping current with news, going to garage sales, and reading magazines. She was also an avid Brewers, Packers, and Badgers fan. Kathy’s wish was that everyone will remember her by wearing clothing from one of these teams to her funeral.
She will be fondly remembered by her husband, Charles; daughters, Ann (Rick) Pinnow of Merrill, Lisa (Scott) Wojcik of Mankato, MN, Mary (Greg) Kinsey of Madison; brothers John (Jeanne) Murphy of Reedsburg, WI and Dick Murphy of Edwardsburg, MI; grandchildren Emily, Konnor, Riston, Braxton, Keaton, and Tyson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Merrill and Luella Murphy; sister Mary Ann Cornelius; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Christ United Methodist Church, Merrill. The Rev. Angie Steinhauer will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a luncheon at Christ United Methodist Church following the burial.
Kathy has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be given in her memory to Autism Speaks.
The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
