Linda Engman

Linda Engman, age 64, of Merrill, passed away Monday, June 30 , 2014 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
She was born May 20, 1950 in Merrill to the late Gilbert and Rosemary (Boettcher) Ward. She and Roger Engman were united in marriage November 26, 1968 in Wausau. He preceded her in death March 19, 2008.
Linda was a graduate of Merrill Senior High School. She went on to Beauty School and received her cosmetology degree. Linda worked as a beautician at JCPenney for many years. She loved going ballroom and line dancing and enjoyed listening to music. She and her special friend, Don Spaulding, went on many cruises together, helping her to enjoy life to its fullest, he preceded her in death on April 22, 2013. Linda enjoyed vacationing in Florida which eventually led to her living there. She took in the beautiful ocean scenery and enjoyed spending time at its many theme parks.
Survivors include her children: Dawn (Greg) Leavitt, Merrill, Nicole (Jimmy ) VanDerGeest, Florida, and Paul Engman, Louisiana; six grandchildren: Ryan, Erin and Eric Leavitt and Corey, Nicholas and BreAnna VanDerGeest; three brothers: Ronald (Deb) Ward, Allen (Laurie) Ward and Scott Ward; and three sisters: Marcy Ward, Sharon Otto and Geraldine (Dave) Arseneau.
She was preceded in death by, maternal grandparents, Walter and Clara Boettcher and her son-in-law, Craig VanDerGeest.
A Memorial Service for Linda will be held 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at church.  Rev. Scott Gustafson will be officiating. Inurnment will take place in Merrill Memorial Park on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m..
