The opening concert of the Merrill City Band season, scheduled for tonight at Normal Park, has been cancelled. The special Pirate Night activities planned for tonight have been postponed to the Wednesday, July 9 concert.
With all the rain today, Normal Park is too wet considering all the extra activities planned to go along with tonight’s concert, explained City Band Director Linda Becker.
Weather willing, the Merrill City Band will kick off its 2014 season with a patriotic concert next Wednesday, July 2. The pirate theme concert will follow on the 9th.
