Sheriff?s office seeks witness to crash

Monday afternoon at about 3:30 p.m., Lincoln County Dispatch received a call of a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Cty. A approximately one mile north of Cty. U. Both drivers, who were the lone occupants, were critically injured and both flown to Ministry St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. One driver had to be extracted from the vehicle.
According to a witness on scene, two vehicles were northbound at the time of the crash, one of which swerved onto the shoulder of the road, possibly to avoid a collision with the southbound vehicle. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking that the driver of the northbound vehicle that was said to have swerved to avoid the southbound vehicle contact them to assist in the investigation of the crash.
This is an ongoing investigation, alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor, and names are not being released at this time.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Tomahawk Police Department, Tomahawk Fire Department, Lincoln County EMS, Oneida EMS and the Wisconsin State Patrol Reconstruction Team.
