Parkside Preschool receives donation

Parkside Preschool Center has used funds donated by Josh Hipke of Custom Design Heating & Cooling toward the purchase of “Large Motor” and “Music and Movement” equipment for the children.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Josh for this generous donation,” said Parkside Director Paula Koelsch.
Parkside Preschool Center and Parkside Preschool 4K and School Age Center, 207 E. First St., is Merrill’s only public, non-profit preschool and child care center and United Way affiliate. As a non-profit organization, Parkside uses its revenue for operating expenses.
“All monies go back into the organization to be used for the children and their families. As a result, this benefits our entire community,” Koelsch said. “There are no owners, so revenue is not used to benefit owners.”
Parkside will accept tax-deductible donations of money, items or services. For example, monetary donations could be earmarked to sponsor low-income children to participate in extra-curricular activities.
“We want people to realize that the benefits of donating to charitable organizations range from monetary (tax deductible) to philanthropic – feeling positive because you’ve made a difference in your community,” Koelsch said.
