Don J. Miller, age 74, died unexpectedly on June 4, 2014 at his home in Merrill, in the township of Harding.
He was born on March 5, 1940 in Cato, WI to Lenard and Frieda (Wollersheim) Miller. Don attended the Manitowoc high school. He fell in love and married Marlene (Schultz) Miller on March 16, 1991 in the town of Ringle, WI.  She survives.
When Don and Marlene moved to a different location, Don did the majority of the landscaping and building. He loved being outdoors, but only when nice weather came around. He enjoyed landscaping so much that his lawn was always nicely manicured, resembling a park. Don enjoyed spending time at home, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and watching nature. He and his wife would enjoy going deer hunting together. He was known to be very particular and organized. He cherished the time that he spent with his family, who meant a lot to him. Don was also a woodworker. He would often make beautiful planters and he even made wooden shelving for all the kids this past Christmas. He also made lawn ornaments, following in his father’s footsteps. You could always find Don working on a project or perfecting a craft.
Don was a territory manager for Acosta Sales and Services, based out of Florida. He was even recognized as the “Man of the Year” for his excellent work with Acosta. He retired from Acosta 12 years ago.
Don and Marlene are members of Christ Lutheran Church in Merrill.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Miller of Merrill; son, Terry (April) Miller of Holmen, son, Bill (Kathy) Miller of Manitowoc, daughter, Debbie (Steve) Krumpos of Bellvue, daughter, Janet (Randy) Miller of Denmark, daughter, Julie (Jeff) DeZeeuw of Manitowoc, son, Mike (Amy) Miller of Green Bay, son, Chris Kielman of Ringle, daughter, Cheri Kielman of Manasha, son, Paul Kielman of Wausau, son, Mark Kielman of Weston; brother, Ken (Maureen) Miller of Sun Prairie; sister, Darlene Markusen of Manitowoc; 26 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Paul Nohr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9 at 12pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Merrill.  Rev. James Weiland will officiate.  Visitation will be on Monday, June 9 from 9am until the time of the service, also at the church. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
