Hartson reaches rank of Eagle Scout

R.T. Hartson, a member of Boy Scout Troop 503, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on Dec. 11, 2013.
He began his Scouting journey in 2006 when he joined Pack 503 as a Cub Scout. R.T. progressed through Cub Scouts, Webelos, and bridged over to Boy Scouts in 2010. Over the years, R.T. earned 24 merit badges and participated in many service projects both through Scouting and church. He became a member of the Order of the Arrow in 2011. He has served as an Assistant Patrol Leader and Leave No Trace Trainer for the Troop, as well as mentor to many boys over the years.
For his Eagle service project, R.T. proposed, planned and led the construction of a walking trail and picnic area in the woods behind the Corning Town Hall. This service project was chosen as a benefit to the residents of Corning Township and to increase outdoor opportunities for the community as a whole. The project was completed in August of 2013.
R.T. received his Eagle Scout Rank advancement at a Court of Honor that was held on March 9, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. R.T. is the son of Rob and Chris Hartson.
