The Merrill High School Bands will convene one last time this year for their annual “Awards Concert.” The concert will feature the Symphonic Band under the direction of Elli Kaetterhenry, and the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Kevin Short. There will also be several awards handed out to very deserving MHS Band students.
The Symphonic Band will be playing “Fortress” by Frank Ticheli, Clifton Williams’ “Dedicatory Overture” and “Garden of the Gods” by Rick Kirby. The Wind Ensemble will perform works such as “Toccata Marziale” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Daniel Kallman’s “Metamorphosis” and “Abram’s Pursuit” by David Holsinger.
The MHS Band Awards concert will take place on Wednesday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. Admission is free; however, donations to MHS Band scholarships will be accepted.
