The Tomahawk girls hosted Hurley last Friday and pulled out a thrilling 6-5 triumph.
“It was exciting to finally play and the girls were excited to get a win,” THS coach John Larson said. “Alex DuPlayee pitched an outstanding game. Offensively, overall we did an adequate job. Maggie Gudinas had a clutch two-run double in the first. The Hatchets did a great job playing small ball.
“Defensively we were shaky at time – to be expected the first time out – but we responded by making some great plays.”
