?Remembering Kyle? scholarship event May 18

Because our last year’s event was such an amazing success, and due to our most generous, huge-hearted event donors, volunteers, and performers, all offering their donations, time and talent, we were able to award scholarships to all five of our scholarship applicants. So, our family will be having our second annual musical scholarship fundraiser on May 18 at 4 p.m. in the MHS auditorium, in hopes that this year’s event and offerings will be even more successful! Event proceeds will be awarded at the MHS Senior Awards Night on Wednesday, May 28.
Our family created this scholarship and fundraising event in memory of our little Kyle, who died of leukemia when he was just four years old. Like other families, our family has experienced the worst of the worst with all that comes when a family sees eye-to-eye with any health crisis, or the cancer beast. There are countless physical, emotional, and financial struggles, and effects… enough to last a lifetime! The most difficult life challenge of all is when cancer wins the battle, and our loved one dies. That is the very sad, hard reality of what our family, and other families have to fear, will sometimes face… and must somehow survive. That’s why we offer this event and scholarship. Our event will honor all of our MHS graduating applicants and their families, as well as all cancer families. Scholarship criteria is that the graduate, or their sibling, mother, or father has had cancer – one heck of a way to qualify for a scholarship.
So, please join us on May 18. Help support all of our MHS graduating applicants and their families. Come listen to some amazing performances, while helping to raise money for this very special, heartfelt cause.
Starting May 1, pre-event tickets can be purchased at Dave’s County Market and Piggly Wiggly. Tickets can also be purchased on event day (doors open at 3:30 p.m.).
Donations can be made at all River Valley Banks to the “Remembering Kyle Memorial Scholarship Fund.” Any questions or donations can be directed to me, Beth Anne Rekowski, Kyle’s Mom, at 715-539-1141, or emailed to [email protected].
