Hubert A. Clocherez, age 95, of Merrill, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
He was born Feb. 3, 1919 in Mount Olive, IL to the late Arthur and Grace (Thompson) Clocherez. Hubert and “Edna” Freitag were united in marriage in June of 1950. She preceded him in death in March of 2005.
Hubert was a dairy farmer for most of his life. He always kept himself busy, logging and making firewood in the wintertime. Hubert enjoyed square dancing with Edna for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Corning.
Survivors include his son, Neal Clocherez, Merrill; son-in-law, Mark Golomski; two grandchildren, Scott (Brooke) Golomski, Hales Corners, WI, and David Golomski, LaCrosse, WI; one great-grandson, Blake Golomski. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna; daughter, Gail G. Golomski; and a sister, Janet Kudick.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Joel Danner will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Waid Funeral Home and again Friday morning from 9-10, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
