Road conditions in North Central Wisconsin expected to deteriorate tonight, Friday

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is closely monitoring the weather conditions expected over the next two days in North Central Wisconsin.
Beginning Thursday evening, April 3, as much as a quarter inch of ice accumulation is possible for highways north of US 10. Much of the freezing rain is expected to continue into Friday morning. Motorists should allow extra time for travel and be prepared to encounter slippery conditions.
Heavy snow accumulations are predicted north of Hwy. 64 on Friday. The snow combined with high winds will reduce visibility and make travel hazardous.
The Wisconsin State Patrol reminds commuters that the road conditions may change quickly. If you must travel, WisDOT reminds motorists to be prepared for the unexpected and check winter road conditions before leaving home by visiting 511.wi.gov or calling 5-1-1.
