Benefit March 29 for Arthur Hoffman

A benefit event will be held Saturday, March 29, for Arthur Hoffman in memory of his mother, Kathryn Nelson, who passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 30, 2014, just after Arthur’s first birthday.

The benefit will be held at the Merrill Town Hall, W4594 Progress Ave., Merrill. Doors open at 3 p.m., with a dinner at 5:30 p.m. A cake and pie auction will be held after dinner and America’s Party Band will provide live music from 8-11 p.m.
T
here will be Budweiser on tap, along with Captain Morgan, Kesslers and Windsor mixed drinks and Jose Cuervo margaritas on a freewill offering basis.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance at Nelson’s Power House, Dave’s County Market, River Valley Bank and Schult’s Country Inn, or at the door.

Anyone who buys a ticket is in the running for the grand prize of a brand new Husqvarna lawn tractor. There will be a silent auction and drawings for prizes. Items include getaway packages to hotels in Appleton, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau and gift certificates from restaurants in each city; a Primo ceramic grill and Weber Spirit Stainless grill and accessories for cookouts; signed Packers football, a signed Twins baseball, and Badgers items, along with too many other things to list.

“The generosity has been amazing as far as what’s been donated so far. Donations are still coming in. We had more than 70 cakes and pies donated for the ‘Team Erika’ breast cancer benefit last September. Many of the same people will be baking their special cake or pie for this benefit. We hope to see many of our friends and family on the 29th,” said Dave Nelson, Kathryn’s father.

All proceeds from the benefit will be used for Arthur.
