Fire destroys pole shed in Pine River

On Monday at approximately 7:49 p.m. the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a structure fire on the dead end of High Ridge Road in the town of Pine River. A neighbor to the residence called in stating that it appeared as if the house was on fire at that location. A short time later, the Sheriff’s Office received another call stating that an outdoor wood burner was on fire. The first arriving deputy found that a large pole shed with an attached outdoor wood burner was partially engulfed.
The person living at the property stated they noticed the fire after noticing the lights in the house were flickering. It is believed that the fire was started by the attached wood burner based upon the evidence at the scene.
No injuries were reported and the building is a total loss. The Pine River Fire Department was assisted by the town of Hewitt Fire Department, town of Texas Fire Department, Merrill Fire Department and Wisconsin Public Service.
