Tomahawk Firefighters and a deputy responded to a smoke scare early last Monday morning in the Town of Bradley. At 4 a.m., a cell 911 call reported the smell of smoke and burning in a home on Clover Lane. When the deputy and firefighters arrived, they found no fire. Firefighters checked the house inside and out but were unable to find the source of the odor. No damage or injury was reported.
A 38-year-old Tomahawk man was taken into custody early Wednesday morning after deputies and EMS responded to a report of an unconscious man in a vehicle in the Town of Bradley. At 2:45 a.m., a cell caller reported coming across a vehicle in the ditch at County Rd. O and Lowery Rd. When the passerby checked, he found the driver unconscious. Tomahawk EMS along with deputies responded to the scene and found the driver was not injured but impaired. He was placed through field sobriety tests and as a result of those tests he was taken into custody for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Unable to find a sober ride, the man was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he was held until late Wednesday afternoon when he was sober enough to be released.
A 23-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested early Saturday morning after a deputy caught up to a speeding vehicle in the Town of Rock Falls. Just after 7 a.m., the deputy was patrolling on County Rd. E when he had a vehicle pass him at a high rate of speed. The radar indicated the vehicle was traveling at 86 MPH in the 55 zone. When the deputy went to stop the vehicle the driver pulled into his residence in the 6000 block of County Rd. E. As the deputy spoke with the driver, he noted the smell of intoxicants and marijuana. The driver admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana in the hours before he was stopped. He was placed through field sobriety tests and taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants first offense. The deputy also found marijuana in the vehicle leading the man to be booked into the Lincoln County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana. He was later released to a responsible party after posting a cash bond.
A 47-year-old Merrill man was arrested Sunday morning on a misdemeanor charge after deputies responded to a disturbance in the Town of Scott. At 6:25 a.m., a call reported a disturbance occurring at a residence on State Rd. 64. When deputies arrived, they learned the incident started after an argument about farm work. The suspect was brought to the Lincoln County Jail and charged with disorderly conduct. He was held until Sunday afternoon when he was able to post a cash bond and be released.
Only one car deer crash was reported this past week.
