Ida Lucy Bootz

Ida Lucy Bootz was born January 12, 1916 in Ironwood, MI, daughter of James and Eliza (D’Angela) Gasbarri.  She received her education at Ironwood high school.  On August 10, 1940 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Bootz.  They made their home in Merrill, WI where Ida was employed at Weinbrenner, Ben Franklin and Wire Products. After Gilbert’s death she remained in Merrill and for the past 9 years has made her home in Oregon closer to her son Terry. Ida’s death came on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Ivy Court Senior Living Center in Milwaukie, OR.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Altar Guild in Merrill and Trinity Lutheran church in Oregon City, OR. Her free time was spent bowling, doing crafts, playing cards and volunteer work. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gilbert two brothers and one sister. Survivors include two sons; Terry (Brenda) Bootz of Oregon City, OR and Jeffery (Beverly) Bootz of Sturgeon Bay, WI seven grandchildren; Sarah, Jennifer, Jason, Joshua, Matthew, and Jessie and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Waid Funeral Home in Merrill with entombment at the Restlawn Cemetery in Wausau. Friends my call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to services. Online condolences may be left at www.waidfuneral.com
