Adeline Agnes Wendt (nee Krause), age 93, passed away at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill, on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.
Addie was born Aug. 3, 1920, in the Town of Maine, Marathon County, daughter of the late Erich and Hulda (Voelker) Krause. She married Arthur C. Wendt on Sept. 16, 1944. He passed away Feb. 27, 1965.
Adeline worked for Merrill Area Public Schools for 19 years until her retirement in 1985. Addie was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Town of Maine.
Addie is survived by nieces, Bonnie (Jerry) Gerkhardt, of Hubertus, WI, and Margie (Roger) Kniess, of Wausau; nephews, Warren Beck, of Woodruff, George Beck, of Wausau and David (Joanne) Krause, of Merrill; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wendt; her parents, Erich and Hulda Krause; one sister, Elmeda Beck; and two brothers, Elmer Krause and Norman Krause.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Holy Cross Chapel at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. The Rev. Nathan Kramer will officiate. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Cross Chapel at Bell Tower Residence. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
