Merrill High School dance team headed to state
In just their second year of Regional Competition, the Merrill High School Dance Team is returning to the State competition.
This past weekend, the Merrill High School Varsity Dance Team traveled to New Richmond to compete at the WACPC Western Regionals in Division 1 High Kick and Hip Hop. The Dance Team took a 2nd in Hip Hop by 1 point to Eau Claire Memorial, advancing them to the State Competition at the La Crosse Center in La Crosse on Saturday, Feb. 1.
Overall, the Merrill Dance Team was the 5th and 13th highest scoring team out of 40 for the day. Over 35 different schools from western Wisconsin participated in the Dance Team Regionals in Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 – Jazz, High Kick and Hip Hop.
State competition spectator tickets are $10 for general admission; children under five are free.
