Jacqueline Blaisdell

Jacqueline Blaisdell, age 74, known as “Aunt Jackie” to friends and family, died on January 13, 2014 at her residence in Gleason.  She was born on September 5, 1939 to John “Jack” W. Blaisdell and Clara M. (Zimmerman) Blaisdell in the town of Minoqua.  She graduated from Merrill High School and immediately went to work for the Wausau Paper Company for 30+ years until the time she retired, doing many duties there, including driving forklift. Jacqueline enjoyed spending time on Long Lake, especially fishing.  She had a pontoon boat that she would take out on the lake, taking in the beautiful scenery and wildlife.  Jacqueline was very interested in Genealogy, studying her family history.  She loved being outdoors with nature and would look forward to feeding her squirrels.  Jacqueline was a very active member of The First Presbyterian Church, both in Gleason and Merrill.  She had many responsibilities at the church and helped out wherever she could.
Jacqueline is survived by her sister, Beatrice Catherine Zastrow, Merrill; nephews, Steven (Julie) Zastrow, Merrill, Leon Dale Zastrow, Menasha, Mark (Yvonne) Alan Zastrow, Wausau and Michael L. Zastrow, Neillsville; niece, Catherine (Corey) Beatrice Dornback, Merrill; great nieces and nephews, Stephanie Zastrow, Brenda Zastrow, Kevin Jones, Laura Jones, Marcus Zastrow, Carl Dornback and Rose Dornback.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Cynthia Marie Zastrow Jones, Neillsville.
Funeral services will be on January 22, 2014 at 11 AM at Waid Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on January 22, 2014 at 9 AM at Waid Funeral Home and will go until the time of the service.  Rev. Don King will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Merrill Memorial Park.  Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
