Lincoln County Amvets donate to HAVEN

The Lincoln County AMVETS Post 2000 recently made a donation of $300 to HAVEN.  AMVETS Post Adjutant Pat Myers presented the check to Director Judy Woller last Tuesday at HAVEN in Merrill. Woller gratefully acknowledged the donation, thanking the AMVETS for
choosing to assist HAVEN in advocacy for those affected by interpersonal violence.
According to Myers, the AMVETS supports both veterans and their local communities by contributing to needs such as the food pantries in Merrill and Tomahawk, a high school scholarship program, the Honor Flights, and Camp American Legion. He explained that the AMVETS are unique because any veteran who served honorably at any time is eligible and encouraged to be part of the organization.
The AMVETS use the symbol of the White Clover signifying “Remember Me” in their work within each local area. The Lincoln County AMVETS meet the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church on Third and Mill streets, Merrill. No meetings are held in January or July.
