Lenora “Joyce” Rossmanith of Gleason died Saturday December 21, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 80 years old. She was born on June 22, 1933 in Wolcott, IN, daughter of the late Margaret (Cade) Jarrett and Howard Jarrett. She married Victor Rossmanith on July 3, 1958 in North Judson, IN. He survives.
She was a graduate of North Judson High School in North Judson, IN. She and her husband moved to Wisconsin from Indiana in 1965. They have since farmed in the Town of Vilas.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed time with her family and friends.
One of her greatest accomplishments was creating the book “Vilas Township Then & Now 1979-2002”. She spent many years gathering pictures, stories, and statistics to put this book together.
Among her many interests was a lifelong love of music. She played piano and organ for many years for wedding and church events. She was a member of Wildwood Methodist Church where she played piano for church services and was deeply involved in the children’s church school program.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Debra (Ron) Doucette of Wausau, Cynthia (Ken) Fermanich of Chaska, Mn, Daniel (Colleen) Rossmanith of Green Bay, Brenda (Greg) Kastner of Schofield, Victoria Vincent of Wausau, and Joan (David) Andraschko of Birnamwood; sisters; Gloria (Darrell) Richie of Carpentersville, IL and Roz Jarrett of Wachee, FL; 16 grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Warren Jarrett.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 AM at Wildwood Methodist Church in Gleason, WI. Reverend Angie Steinhauer will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
A memorial fund will be established in her name.
