Matthew Rekowski has been chosen as the November Youth Optimist. In the letter of recommendation, written by Mr. Eric Simkins, he writes that, “since getting to know Matt, he realizes that he is a driven, intelligent young man who enjoys helping others. “Matt took a course during his junior year that is transcripted with Northcentral Technical College and usually taken during a student’s senior year. He earned one of the top grades in the class and was a great asset to the class environment.” Mr. Simkins also states that, “Matt is always prepared for class, willing to participate and help other students. In discussions, Matt would be the one to ask the deep questions that would lead to further discussions and intrigued the other students to observe topics from different viewpoints – challenging them to further their own understanding. Matt is the kind of student you want in your class.”
