?Plow through your reading list? in library contest

“Plow Through Your Reading List” is the theme of the 2014 Winter Read In for Adults at T.B. Scott Library, where you can enter beginning Jan. 2. The Winter Read In, now in its 14th year, offers adults (age 18 and up) an opportunity to win prizes for reading.
The contest is a way to emphasize that our community’s adult readers are important, not only because they use, value and support T.B. Scott Library, but because of all the benefits that reading brings – the library feels strongly that readers, whatever their age, are more informed, more skilled, and more valuable members of our community.
Besides, why should kids have all the fun?
In last summer’s adult reading contest, a record 203 readers entered, including 83 new entrants, and 71 of them were prizewinners. Of the 116 readers participating in last year’s Winter Read-In, 42 of them won prizes.
Prizes for the 2014 Winter Read-In have been donated by the Friends of T.B. Scott Library, Hardee’s Restaurant, Hugo’s Pizza, Johnson Gifts & Home Décor, Culver’s Restaurant, Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, Family Chiropractic Clinic, Young’s Drug Store, Champ’s Restaurant, Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes and Auto Jockeys.
Entering is easy. Pick up entry forms at the library. On each entry form, write down the titles of five books you’ve read. Drop completed forms into an entry box at the library to enter the contest.
You’re welcome to read fiction or non-fiction. Count books that you’ve read in print, listened to, or read with an e-book reader. You may submit up to 50 five-book entries in the contest.
Regular prize winners will be drawn on Jan. 24, Feb. 14 and Feb. 28, and announced live on WJMT-AM 730 The Patriot’s “Our Town” program at 8:45 a.m. Each reader may win once in the regular drawings. Winners will be notified by phone.
In addition, all entries will be eligible for the March 9 grand prize drawing, a basket including prizes from each donor. The grand prize will be drawn live on the March 7 WJMT-AM Our Town program.
