It wasn’t business as usual during the weekly meeting of the Merrill Rotary Club on Dec. 10 at 3’s Company Restaurant. Members came bearing gifts to auction off and checks to purchase gifts, all for a good cause. Jeremy Cordova, president of the Merrill Rotary Club, said “Thanks to the generosity of our members and the continued tremendous support of River Valley Bank, the Merrill Rotary raised $6,595 for the continued support of the Merrill Food Pantry and other community projects.”
Carl Theorin, owner of Wausau Sales Corp/Auctioneers, conducted the auction.
The annual fundraising tradition started many years ago when a donation of a bottle of spirits from Steve Blake at Club Modern was auctioned off with the proceeds going to charity. The Annual Rotary Auction has grown to an event which has raised over $30,000 in the last four years in support of the food pantry over the holiday season.
The Merrill Rotary meets at noon on Tuesday at 3’s Company Restaurant. For more information contact Jeremy Cordova at 715-536-9576.
