Antigo tips THS
The THS basketball team kicked off its GNC season with its first loss by a 58-46 tally to the tough Antigo.
“This is a learning experience for us,” THS coach Tim Albert said. “Antigo is the best team we’ve played so far this year, and we have several areas that need improvement.
“We got a lot of good looks against their half-court zones, we just weren’t able to get anything to fall. I thought we executed very well, but we just didn’t convert the open looks we got with our good ball movement.”
Antigo used a 9-2 run in the first quarter to take a 14-6 lead, but only out-scored Tomahawk 16-15 in the second. The Red Robins bumped it to 46-36 by the end of the third, used a 12-10 fourth to close out the win.
Jared Jarvensivu made 12-of-12 free throws while scoring 18 to go with 6 assists and 3 rebounds. Other contributions came from: Jordan Roessler (12 p); Chris Schoone (9 p); Lorne Ahrens (5 p, 4 r); and Fletcher Schoone (3 r).
