Orin V. Genrich, Sr.

Orin V. Genrich, Sr., age 83, of Merrill, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Golden Living Center – Riverview in Tomahawk.  
Orin was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Wausau, to the late Harold and Violet (Huven) Genrich.  
Orin grew up and attended school in Wausau.He moved to Phoenix, AZ, for a short period of time before making Merrill his home. Orin was a custodian at St. John’s Lutheran School in Merrill and was also a school bus driver in the Merrill area. He enjoyed writing, reading, camping and sitting around the table engrossed in long debates. He was best known for his weekly commentary that he wrote for the Foto News.  
Survivors include three sons, Charles (Lorraine) Genrich of White Bear Lake, MN, Orin (with Shannon Johnson) Genrich, from Merrill, and Todd (with Hope Wolfe) Kleinschmidt, also of Merrill; three daughters, Kim (Rod) Messerschmidt of Tomahawk, Brenda Broeking of Merrill, and Billie (Gary) Davis of Texas; and sister, Karen Potter, of Las Vegas, NV. He is further survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  
Orin was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Genrich; his parents, Harold and Violet; and granddaughter, Montana Kleinschmidt.  
A memorial service for Orin will be held Monday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m. from Generations Funeral Home at 1400 N. 4th St., Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m.
