Riverside Athletic Club is partnering with the Merrill Fire Department in collecting for the Christmas Spirit Appeal. If someone joins Riverside in the month of November and brings in a new toy, they will get November for free.
“We are excited to be part of a program that is helping to make the holidays a little brighter for the less fortunate members of our community,” says Becci Shuman, Club Manager at Riverside Athletic Club. “New members who donate to Christmas Spirit/Toys for Tots get the satisfaction of helping others and also have November for free, so everyone wins.”
The guidelines for gifts are: All gifts must be new and in original packaging; no stuffed animals unless new and in a sealed package; all clothing must be new, most needed clothing includes hats, mittens, boots, shirts and jeans; gifts can be for any age, but primarily for children 12 and younger; ood cards (any amount accepted) should be marked “no liquor or cigarettes” when purchased; and, do not wrap gifts.
Shuman says the best way to get started at the club is to come in for a tour and then do a 7 Day Free Trial. “Exercise is a great stress reliever so it can really help to have yourself in a regular workout routine as the holidays approach,” she said. “Give yourself the gift of health.”
