Bernard W. Draxler, age 77, of Merrill, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
Bernard was born April 3, 1936, in Wakefield, Michigan, son on Mary Draxler, and the late Casper Draxler. Bernard served with the U.S. Army as a radio operator in South Korea. He was a retired employee of the S.N.E. Corporation of Wausau and Mosinee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, cooking maple syrup, making sausage, and visiting with his friends.
Bernard is survived by his son, Jeff (Jolene) Draxler, of Athens; three grandchildren, Brittany (Phil) Draxler-Suckow, Brooke Draxler and Bradley Draxler; his mother, Mary Draxler, of Marshfield; four brothers, Leon Draxler, of Leon Lakes, Washington, Richard Draxler, of San Francisco, California, Daniel (Alla) Draxler, of Baxter Springs, Kansas, and James (Amy) Draxler, of Seattle, Washington; and two sisters, Audrey (Munir) Orgun, of Bellevue, Washington, and Sally Blackberg, of Columbus, Ohio. Bernard was preceded in death by his father, Casper; a son, Thomas; and one sister, Nancy Draxler.

A private family service will be held at a later date. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
