Sheriff?s Office to hold brat fry for officer in need

The Lincoln County Professional Deputies Association is planning a brat fry to provide assistance to the McCluskey family of western Wisconsin.

Dan McCluskey is the City of Onalaska K9 Officer and he is the husband of Megan and father of 14 year old Aidan.

Aidan is suffering from renal failure due to complications from when he was a newborn. His mother was a perfect match to donate a kidney to Aidan, but she is now suffering from metastatic breast cancer and is undergoing treatments. With the cancer, chemotherapy, radiation and upcoming surgery; Megan is no longer considered a donor to help her son.

On top of their medical problems, on July 29 the McCluskey family was dealt yet another devastating blow when their home was destroyed by a fire.

Although the deputies at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office do not personally know the McCluskey family, they do know that cancer, and their support for a brother or sister in law enforcement in need, knows no boundaries.

The brat fry to support the McCluskey family will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dave’s County Market in Merrill.

Although not often seen presenting large checks, the Lincoln County Professional Deputies Association has a long silent history of supporting law enforcement officers and surviving families throughout the state of Wisconsin after tragic events.
