Deputies are seeking your help as they investigate damage done to the former Scott School. Last Monday, the owner of the former school building reported finding significant damage to the building. The suspects smashed out doors to the building to gain access and once inside smashed numerous items throughout the gymnasium. If you know anything about the damage done to the former Scott School building, you are asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 715-536-6272, or call Crime Stoppers of Lincoln County at 715-536-3726. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.

A 51 year old Merrill man was arrested Tuesday evening on two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping. Deputies received information that the man, who had been released from jail just over 24 hours prior, was drinking in violation of his bonds in Lincoln County Court. When deputies arrived at a home on Prairie Drive in the Town of Schley where the man was reported to be staying, he greeted them and admitted immediately that he had been drinking. The suspect was brought to the Lincoln County Jail and held. At a bond hearing on Wednesday, the suspect was released after posting a $1,000 cash bond that was set by a Lincoln County Judge. On Saturday, deputies responded to a motel in the Town of Merrill after receiving a report that the man was there drinking. Deputies located the man in his room and he voluntarily performed a breath test which showed he was intoxicated. The man was again brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he has been charged with three counts of bail jumping. He remained jailed awaiting a bond hearing on Monday.

A 23 year old Menomonee man was arrested Friday morning on a warrant charge. The deputy assigned to security at the Lincoln County Court House took the man into custody just before 9 a.m. The suspect appeared in court and pled guilty to a pending burglary case but a check showed he was wanted by the Dunn County Sheriff for failing to pay child support. The suspect was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he remained over the weekend.

Twelve people reported striking deer this past week. On Friday, a bear cub was found struck on US Hwy. 51 near Nibbler Rd. and on Saturday a Wind Lake man reported striking a turkey on State Rd. 86 at County Rd. T in the Town of Tomahawk.
