Crews began work on Hwy. 17 between Lincoln County G and Norwegian Road, on Monday, Sept. 30.

American Asphalt of Wisconsin is the prime contractor for the $149,000 project. Crews will improve the Hwy. 17/County G intersection by constructing an offset, right-turn lane to provide enhanced visibility of approaching southbound Hwy. 17 traffic from County G.

During construction, Hwy. 17 will remain open to traffic. Motorists can expect to encounter single lane closures and flagging operations.

Construction is scheduled for completion by Friday, Oct. 18. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and construction status.

Ninety percent of the project will be paid for with federal transportation funds; the remaining 10 percent will be paid for with state transportation funds.
