Ministry Spirit Medical Transportation recently donated an ambulance to Northcentral Technical College’s (NTC) Public Safety Center of Excellence in Merrill.
The ambulance will allow NTC students and community Emergency Medical System (EMS) providers who train at the facility the opportunity to train and prepare for emergency events which occur during transport situations.
“We are thankful for the support of Ministry Health Care and our program,” said Doug Jennings, Director of Fire and EMS Education at NTC.
Jennings says that prior to the donation from Ministry, one ambulance split time between the center and other regional training efforts held at six other locations. “This donation helps us meet a significant need and will allow us to have an ambulance at our training center on a full time basis,” said Jennings.
Ministry Spirit Medical Transportation operates several Type III modular ground ambulances which are medically equipped to transport a patient in a critical care environment. They are dispatched from six facilities strategically placed throughout the Ministry system. The donated ambulance was recently replaced as a part an ongoing program to ensure optimal safety and performance for interfaculty transport.
“We have a great relationship with Northcentral Technical College and are excited to show our support of their Public Safety Center of Excellence by donating the ambulance,” said Ted Ryan III, System Director of Medical Transportation Services for Ministry Health Care.
The ambulance donation is the latest showing of support for NTC’s Public Safety Center of Excellence. Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center was one of eleven area businesses to support the expansion of the state-of-the-art Emergency Village, which replicates business storefronts on a simulated street block to provide real-life training scenarios for emergency responders.
Ministry Spirit Medical Transportation has a history of supporting EMS programs throughout central and northern Wisconsin. In 2011, a similar ambulance that was being replaced was donated to Nicolet Area Technical College, Rhinelander.
