Calvary Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River, invites everyone to attend their annual Beef Roast and Auction on Sunday, Aug. 18. A meal featuring a choice of specially seasoned roast beef and barbecued beef, scalloped potatoes, corn, Jell-O salad, beverage and your choice of homemade pie will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children 6-12 years of age and children under 6 are free. Enjoy old time music by the Polish Cowboys until 1 p.m. Stay to bid on items at the Live Auction with Luke Kottke serving as auctioneer. Some of the featured items for sale include an autographed Green Bay Packer football (2012 team), handcrafted cedar chest, lawn glider swing, kid’s toy chest, upright piano, couch, kitchen table and chairs, heavy woods trailer and more. Many goods and services along with gently used items will be offered. A huge silent auction will be going on all afternoon with closeouts on items occurring throughout the day. More than 40 items of interest to men, women and children will be offered. Concessions and free children’s games will be offered after dinner.
All are welcome to join us for Sunday worship led by Pastor Susan Christian at 10 a.m. Special worship music will be presented by Bill Storm and friends. The church is located east of Merrill at N365 Cain Creek Road in the Town of Pine River. Either travel Hwy 64 east to Cain Creek Road south or Hwy 64 east to Hwy W south to Hwy P, then east to Cain Creek Road. Signs will be posted.
