A soil health field day will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 1-3 p.m. at the Ron Schleif Farm, W2746 Center Rd. Merrill.
Dan Marzu (UW Extension), Peggy Winter (USDA-NRCS) and Mark Kaczorowski (Lincoln LCD) will be introducing soil health and tools you can implement on your own farm. Discussions will involve soils 101, infiltration, reducing run-off, improving soil organic matter, using cover crops, and no-till farming.
The event is hosted by the Lincoln County Land Conservation Department.
