Police Department hosts Merrill Community Night Out

The Merrill Police Department is hosting a community event at Normal Park on Wednesday Aug. 7, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The “Merrill Community Night Out” is focused on crime prevention in our community.
As part of the Police Department’s Crime Prevention Initiative (CPI), which began earlier in the year, the Community Night Out invites residents to come to Normal Park and enjoy free food, activities, and live music, all while learning about crime prevention and experiencing some of the services available in our community. The event precedes the Merrill City Band concert at 7:30 p.m.
Other agencies participating in this event include the Merrill Fire Department, Lincoln County Crime Stoppers, Merrill Parks and Recreation, Merrill Community Enrichment Center, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Merrill Transit System. Displays and activities will be available to participants. The Police Department will be serving free food, with slices of pie with ice cream served up by the Enrichment Center. Merrill Transit will be running busses all evening, rides are sponsored by the Merrill Professional Police Association. If bus rides to and from the event are desired, including the city band concert, call 715-536-7112.
