Merrill Hometown Pharmacy now ?Young?s Drug Store?

Young’s Drug Stores now officially has three retail pharmacy locations in Wausau and Merrill.
Young’s Drug Store, located at 301 E. Bridge St. in Wausau, remains Young’s Drug Store. Southside Pharmacy, located at 2106 Grand Ave. in Wausau, has officially changed its name to Young’s Drug Store.
Young’s Drug Store on Bridge has been serving Wausau since the 1930s, when current owner Forrest Young’s grandfather, Ed Young, owned the store. Ed Young retired in 1958. Forrest Young purchased the pharmacy from Jack Jackson in 2002, and renamed it Young’s Drug Store.
Young’s Drug Store on Grand, formerly Southside Pharmacy, was purchased by Forrest Young from Pharmacist Aaron Franck in 2010.
Hometown Pharmacy Merrill is now Young’s Drug Store Merrill. It is located at 301 E. 2nd St. The pharmacy opened as a new store after Aurora Pharmacy closed and sold to Walgreens in late 2009. It opened at this location in January, 2013.
All three retail pharmacy locations now share the same computer system. This benefits customers in that they can place an order with any of the three locations, and then pick up an order at any of the three locations. This offers added convenience for customers who visit physicians and specialists in either location.
Young’s Drug Stores offer a variety of services, including prescriptions, home delivery, flu shots and all vaccinations, blood pressure measurements, Medicare Part D consultations, medication management evaluations, pet prescriptions and compounded medications.
All three locations will be expanding their open hours beginning Sept. 3, 2013, to better serve customers. They will be open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
