Beckman reaches Eagle rank

Dominic Beckman started his scouting career at age 6, in first grade, with Cub Scout Pack 503. He participated in fund raisers, and derby races including the Pinewood Derby, the Space Derby and the Rain Gutter Regatta.
He achieved his Arrow of Light and crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 599 in the spring of 2006. He participated in many camp outs, including summer camp at Tesomas Scout Camp in Rhinelander, spending and entire summer at Camp Tesomas as a Counselor in Training in 2009. He went on several winter campouts, including one where temperatures reached minus 35 degrees Fahrenheit, giving true meaning to the Boy Scout Motto, “Be Prepared.”
He was an Eagle Scout Service Project and two merit badges short of achieving his Eagle Rank when he moved with his family to Michigan where he, with hard work, determination and a lot of help from the adult leaders in Troop 599, finally achieved his Eagle Rank. Dominic finally received his Eagle on Saturday March 16, 2013.
He is the son of Shawn and Nikki Beckman, and he is currently living in Merrill. He hopes to someday become a published author.
