Memorial cancer scholarship to benefit MHS graduate

The “Remembering Kyle Memorial Scholarship – Night Of Music And Sounds” will take place on Friday, May 24, at the Merrill High School Auditorium, at 7 p.m. Local performers and event volunteers have generously volunteered to donate their talent and time for this event.
The evening will be our family’s first, of hopefully many, annual musical performance scholarship fundraising events in memory of my four-year old little boy, and our three other son’s beloved brother, Kyle, who died of leukemia. At this event we would also like to honor the families of our MHS graduating scholarship applicants, and recipient, because the criteria for this scholarship is that the student, their sibling, or their mother or father has had cancer.
Our family knows firsthand the physical, emotional, and financial difficulties that come when cancer enters lives. The effects are countless, and in some cases endless, especially when the outcome is the devastating loss of a loved one.
Pre-event ticket sales will begin May 1, at Dave’s County Market, or can also be purchased on the event day at the MHS ticket booth. Tickets are $3 for children and students and $5 for adults or non-students. Any donations to the scholarship are welcome and appreciated (non-profit organization status is in-process and pending).
Any questions or donations can be directed to me (Beth Anne Rekowski) at 715-539-1141, or emailed [email protected].
