While it may still be brown and muddy outside, spring and summer are on their way. This means we are already busy planning an excellent camp experience for Lincoln County youth in grades 3 – 8. Children do not have to be in 4-H to go to camp.
Like other 4-H projects and activities, 4-H camp is centered around the idea of providing youth a fun, hands-on environment to build and strengthen valuable life skills. Camp is another great way 4-H enables youth to learn and practice skills to be productive citizens.
The 4-H community invites all Lincoln County youth between the grades of 3-8 to experience the greatest part of summer vacation. The camp is held in the beautiful Trails End Camp in Bruce, WI from June 17-20. The camp features dorm style-living, modern shower and bathroom facilities, a historic log mess hall, and programs in recreation, crafts, canoeing, nature exploration, music/drama and more. Transportation from Tomahawk and Merrill is included in the fee. Registration materials for this year’s camp are due on May 20.
For more information about 4-H Summer Camp or to obtain registration materials, call the UW-Extension office at 715-539-1080. 4-H is open to all youth in Lincoln County. The 4-H program provides equal opportunities in programming. Requests for reasonable accommodations for disabilities or limitations may be made prior to the date of the program or activity for which it is needed. For a brochure or more information please contact the UW-Extension Office at 715-539-1080.
