Melvin F. Roesler

Melvin F. Roesler, 76, Merrill, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
He was born August 25, 1936 in Merrill, son of the late Henry Sr. and Helen (Kriewald) Roesler. On June 30, 1992, he married Carol Hopperdietzel in Merrill. She survives.
In his younger years, Melvin worked for Fromm Fur Farm in Merrill. He later worked for Marathon Electric in Wausau and retired as a truck driver for Switlick and Sons in Athens. Melvin was a member of the A & H Snowmobile Club and volunteered for many years at the Athens Fair and the Udder Plunge. He also kept busy snowplowing in the Athens area. Among some of his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and just driving around, known as the “Road Toad”.
Survivors include, his wife, Carol Roesler, Merrill, one son, Scott Roesler, Athens; three grandchildren, Chad Roesler, Dorchester, Tucker Roesler, Athens and Treyton Roesler, Athens; one great grandson, Xander Roesler, Dorchester; his ex-wife, Bernice (Larry) Connors, Hazelhurst; three siblings, Henry “Pudge” Jr. (Connie) Roesler, Jim Falls, Wis., Wayne “Snuffy” (Marlene) Roesler, Athens and Janet (Dennis) Zemke, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Hart.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens. Rev. Andrew Alberts will officiate. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services, all at the funeral home. There will be a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
