William “Bill” Lowell McNeil, age 86, of Merrill, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
He was born July 4, 1926 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late William C. and Ethel (Skepper) McNeil. He married the former Ruth Lambrecht in Merrill on June 22, 1946. She passed away on February 5, 1997.
Bill attended school in the Racine area. He moved to Merrill in 1955 and was employed at Northern Door Company until retiring in 1996. Bill enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a volunteer for many years at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Bill is survived by three sons: John of Merrill, Mark of Wausau and Robert (Brenda) of Reedsville. Two daughters: Cynthia McNeil of Concord, NC and Jean (Marty) Kiss of Wilmington, IL. One sister, Mary Lynne Metzger of Racine, one brother, James (Elaine) McNeil of Madison and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, a brother, Dave McNeil and a sister, Shirley Wurzer.
A Memorial Service will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 27, 2013 at The Holy Cross Chapel, Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. The Rev. Joy M. Nelson-Jeffers will officiate.
