Humane Society announces 2014 pet calendar contest

The Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS) is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual LCHS Calendar Contest. This year’s theme is “Occu-paw-tions: Working For a New Shelter.” The theme aligns with the beginning of the shelter’s capital campaign. Due to the age of the shelter and recent changes to legislation, the current shelter is grossly inadequate to properly attend to the needs of our county’s animals. The law now requires larger kennels for dogs and other changes to be made to the shelter.
“The 2013 calendar was a huge success and I can’t wait to see what Tina creates with this theme,” said Jeni Hinz, calendar chair. “Tina (Miller) is very patient with the animals. Her organic photography methods work well even with the wiggliest animal. The 2013 calendar was all cats and dogs, but we’re hoping to get a variety of pets for next year.”
To enter this year’s contest contact Photography by Tina to schedule your pet’s portrait prior to May 31. Any animal that is considered a pet can be entered in the contest. The cost is $50 plus tax and Photography by Tina will donate $25 from each session to the shelter.
The best image from your session will be entered into the calendar contest. In-person and online voting will determine the top entries to be included in the 2014 calendar. The pet with the highest number of votes will win a canvas gallery wrap of their pet’s portrait. Winners will be announced at the 2013 LCHS Annual Banquet at Les & Jim’s on Oct. 12, 2013.
For complete contest rules and entry forms visit furrypets.com, the shelter’s Facebook page or contact Photography by Tina at 715-212-0767.
