The Merrill Police Department celebrated the culmination of its third Citizen’s Police Academy on Tuesday, March 26.
Twelve participants completed the 10 session academy. The academy gave participants a realistic view of the police department with presentations on a wide variety of topics including an overview of the Merrill Police Department, crime prevention, investigations, the use of force, firearms, emergency vehicle operation, crash investigations, operating while intoxicated, traffic stops, drug enforcement, and an overview of the SRO program.
Citizen Police Academy graduates are: Mary Ball, Trina Knospe, Heidi Lefferts, Raymond Lefferts, Sarah Litzer, Dean Neumann, Keshav Pillai, Carolyn Runkel, Charles Sauer, Tanya Sliwinski, Deneeca Stewart, and Thomas Zuelsdorff. Following the final presentation, the graduates were presented with certificates of completion.
